Surgical Teams Performing Minimally Invasive Surgeries in Australia

GSA members are invited to participate in a PhD research project on factors associated with neck/shoulder and vision symptoms among surgical teams performing Minimally Invasive Surgeries in Australia.

The purpose of the research is to examine the risk factors for musculoskeletal symptoms and eyestrain among the different members of the surgical team performing minimally invasive surgery and to determine if these factors vary with the protocol of surgery performed (two (2) dimensional, three (3) dimensional laparoscopic or robotic); surgical specialty, or surgical profile.

Participation involves completion of an online 10 minute survey, which can be accessed via survey.its.uq.edu.au

Ethics approval for the survey has been obtained and can be viewed here.

This is a unique opportunity GSA members to make a valuable contribution to the health of surgeons.
