CTEC 2023 - Core Skills: Hepatobiliary Surgery

CTEC’s unique Core Skills: Hepatobiliary Surgery Workshop provides participants the opportunity to learn new skills in a technically challenging and more complex area of General Surgery.  This full day cadaveric workshop features 100 per cent surgical dissection time, with a high ratio of expert faculty to participants. Pre-reading will be available prior to the workshop.

The workshop aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and technical skills in laparoscopic and open hepatobiliary surgical procedures.  It provides participants with a rare opportunity  to practise skills and procedures they may have limited exposure to in the clinical setting.  Each practical session will also focus on the immediate anatomy of the structure operated on and their adjacent structures , broadening and consolidating participants’ anatomical knowledge and understanding.

Suitable for: Fellows and SET Trainees in General Surgery and GSET Trainees above Level 2. Limited places for Observers and for Theatre Nurse in the role of assistant.
