GSA events & COVID-19

In response to the evolving situation with COVID-19, the College has announced its decision to cancel all RACS courses, events, and face-to-face committee and related meetings involving Fellows/Trainees/IMGs for a period of one month, from Monday 9 March 2020.
GSA manages the SET Program in General Surgery through our partnership with our College. As such, this decision has a direct impact on many of the events and meetings we deliver as part of the training program.
GSA staff will work closely with our educational program conveners and Hospital supervisors to postpone or reschedule training events that were planned for the next month, where possible.
Unfortunately, the difficult decision has been made to cancel some of our upcoming educational events that involve direct contact with patients. Our staff will be in contact with all trainees impacted by this decision, and refunds will be arranged for any course fees paid.
This has not been an easy decision, and we appreciate the inconvenience and anxiety that may result for some of you.
Our commitment to the health and safety of our trainees, members, staff, and the wider community remains our priority, and we will continue to work with the College as this fluid situation unfolds.
