Pacific Island & South East Asian Travel Grants

Applications for the 2019 Pacific Island & South East Asian Travel Grant program will open in March 2019 and will close on Tuesday 11 June 2019.

Eligible surgeons and surgical trainees from the Pacific Islands and South East Asia are invited to apply.

The Travel Grant program was established to assist Pacific Island and South East Asian surgeons or surgical trainees to travel to Hobart for the 2019 GSA ASM, to obtain further education and training in General Surgery.

The 2019 GSA ASM - Minimally Invasive Surgery - will be held in conjunction with the CSSANZ Spring Colorectal Meeting, from 24-27 October 2019 at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart.

Eligibility 

Applicants must be a permanent resident or citizen of an eligible Pacific Island or South East Asian nation (excluding Australia and New Zealand). Please read the Pacific Island & South East Asian Travel Grant Policy for a list of eligible nations.

Conditions

The successful recipient(s) will be required to complete an evaluation form and to provide a written report at the conclusion of the 2019 GSA ASM, regarding their experience at the meeting.

Value

In 2019, up to three (3) travel grants will be awarded. The Travel Grant consists of up to AUD$5,000 to be put towards full registration for the 2019 GSA ASM and may also be put towards economy travel expenses and accommodation.

Tenure

For the duration of the 2019 GSA ASM.

  • Letter of application
  • Brief curriculum vitae  
  • Two (2) written professional references
